Are you getting your holiday decorations and gifts made for Christmas? Even though we have a lot of decorations that I use every year, I like to add a few new ones to my decor each year. And I love to DIY Christmas decorations. Today, I am going to show you how to make this easy Santa wall hanging using your Cricut Explore.

Supplies:
- (2) Black and White Polka Dot Paper – (2)
- (1 Each) Black, White, Red Textured Cardstock
- (1) Red and White Striped Paper
- (1) Gold Foil Paper
- Cricut Explore
- Light Grip Mat
- Paper Trimmer (optional)
- Banner Punch Board (optional)
- Glue Pen and Adhesive Foam Dots
- Ribbon
- Eyelet and Crop-A-Dile (optional)
I like to use my banner punch board to create the backgrounds for my banners. It is really easy to use and I can work on the banner pieces while the Cricut cuts out the rest of my design. Start by trimming your black and white polka dot paper to 5 1/2″ x 7″ using your paper trimmer.
Line up the paper in the banner punch board using the vertical 5.5 lines as your guide. Use the banner punch board to create a flag shaped banner.
Note: You can also use the banner shape I have included with my Cricut Design Space file. If you are using the banner punch board, simply hide the banner shape from your layers before you cut with the Cricut.
Open the cut file in Cricut Design Space. It includes the entire banner shape to make one completed banner piece.

Click on the green Make It button. Select 3 project copies. Click the green Continue button.
Follow the onscreen instructions to cut out all the wall hanging pieces.
Smart Set Dial Settings I Use:
- Textured Cardstock – Between Cardstock and Bonded Fabric
- Thin Patterned Paper – Paper
- Plain Cardstock (not textured) – Cardstock
Once you have all the pieces cut out you can begin assembling your wall hanging.
Add the small black rectangle and gold buckle to the H letter.
Attach the red snowflake border to the white shape. I like to use a glue pen to adhere these really thin pieces. I lay out a piece of wax paper underneath the piece I am adding glue to.
Use adhesive to attach the HO letters to the white shape.
Use four adhesive foam dots to add the white shape to the red and white striped paper. Attach the whole thing to the black and white polka dot banner piece using two adhesive foam dots.
I cut a piece of ribbon long enough to attach all three banner pieces vertically. To finish off the top and make it so I can hang the wall hanging, I folded over the top of the ribbon and added a red eyelet using my Crop-A-Dile.
I cut a v-shape in the bottom of the ribbon and sealed it with a lighter so it would not fray. I attached all three banner pieces to the ribbon using adhesive.
This will be the perfect little wall hanging to add to my holiday decor.
