Welcome to the first ever Craft Storage Ideas Blog Hop!
We are each showcasing our favorite craft storage or organization idea. The hop starts at Craft Storage Ideas so if you would like to start from the beginning head on over to CSI. There are lots of great giveaways all week-long and several of the blogs, including mine, are offering blog candy.
My absolute favorite storage solution is my Recollections storage cubes from Michael’s.
The reason I love these cubes so much is they are so versatile. Even as my crafting needs evolve and change over time, I am able to configure these to perfectly fit my needs and space.
In mine I have scrapbook embellishments, paints, scrapbook paper, jewelry supplies, mod podge and other decoupage mediums, my Cricut mats and paper trimmer, plus so much more!
My favorite drawers are the ones with the dividers in them. I store my craft paint upside down in the drawer so I can easily see all the colors. I also have a few with just long dividers that I store my scrapbook embellishments, stickers, etc. in. The cubes easily stack and store so much in such a small space!
What is your favorite item to organize your craft supplies?

I have a bunch of these cubes too! Love them! :)
Laura Silva says
They are great! I love that they are white and will go with any decor I use in my craft room.
Katina says
Love your storage space!
Sabrina Radican says
I love the storage unit!!
Lisa Petrella says
Those cubes are great! Your craft area is so neat and tidy! I am currently on the hunt for additional storage pieces. My husband built me a storage unit, which I love, but I’m needing some additional pieces since my stash has grown so much over time!! Yikes!
Laura Silva says
Neat and tidy in this picture, but right now is extremely messy. Being creative is not a tidy activity! ;) But, the cubes make it easy to clean up when I am finished!
katie brooks says
Jealous of this space, wonderful!
Laura Silva says
Thanks so much! It really is a small space, but I am able to pack a lot in there with the cubes. I was able to purchase them over time with some major coupons and a few I found on Craigslist!
Beatrice Lawson says
Loving those cubes… I make do with a huge Expedit! can’t enter the contest (Canadian reader) but good luck to those who can!
Laura Silva says
I would love to have an Expedit! We don’t have an Ikea near me. These cubes are great for organizing small items.
Ninch says
Love your storage idea.
Sabrina Radican says
The drawer unit that my husband built for me!
Laura Silva says
Lucky you! It is so nice to have a handy husband.
Kay H. says
I love your cubes and how versatile they sound. Some day my craft room is going to be organized enough I can actually work in it.
Laura Silva says
My craft room goes through phases. I like to snap pictures when it is nice and clean! Usually it looks like a war zone. Creativity is messy!
Miriam Prantner says
Oh what a nice space you have! So organized, I love it!
Laura Silva says
Thank you!
Regena O says
I love my cubes too! I have a few from Michaels, Oriental Trading (that quit selling them though) and the majority from Hobby Lobby. I am going to have to check out the drawer dividers though. Love the idea of storing paints like that. Thanks for sharing!
Laura Silva says
You’re welcome! I love to have the paints upside down so I can see them. If you are worried about them spilling, you can always take a q-tip and paint a small dot of the color on the top of the bottle. Works the same without the potential mess! :)
Kathy Grigas says
This storage is perfect. I definitely have to find the corner shelves. Love what you have done with the large rolls of paper. (I never know how to store them). Thanks for sharing.
Laura Silva says
The large rolls of paper are tricky! This is just a plastic trash can, but it works to keep them all corralled!
corinne says
my favorite item is my ikea cabinet with all the different drawers, cubbies and parts you can put inside!
Laura Silva says
I LOVE Ikea! Wish I had one closer to me.
Denise Bryant says
Love the cubes! I’ll have to give them some consideration. Trying to figure out what will work for me!
The favorite item I have now is a Pampered Chef utensil holder that spins. I keep my basic supplies in it. Scissors, acrylic mounts for stamps, adhesives, etc.
Laura Silva says
That is a great idea! I love having everything I use all the time in an easy to access location.
Debbie V says
Love your storage areas — I guess my favorite storage is my dies and embossing folders and stamps inside clear plastic sleeves, all labeled and orderly in a refrigerator plastic bin drawer.
Laura Silva says
That is an excellent idea! I only got a Cuttlebug last year and don’t have many dies yet. But I am thinking that might be the way to go to store them!
Suzy Gray says
The michaels cubes are handy because they can be added to as your needs change
Mandi Holmes says
Lovely room.
Zehra says
I love the cubes, I have one small one for my desk for the markers and alcohol inks. Love it, and in one I keep all my glues
Laura Silva says
They are great, aren’t they? So handy!
Mary O-K says
Your organization of the cubes is exceptional. I, too, have many of them and happily spend hours rearranging! I have to admit, though, that my favorite item to store my crafty stuff is “makeshift.” A Joann’s store was relocating and sold off many of their fixtures. I purchased a rack that held sheets of felt and added acrylic frames to each shelf, which hold LOTS of stamps for me.
Best Wishes,
Mary
Laura Silva says
That is so awesome! That would be so great to have the store’s storage system! I don’t have the space, but I would love to get some of their paper sorters. :)
Lee aka Crafty Loops says
I can’t enter your giveaway as I am in Northern Ireland but I can still comments (and drool) on your awesome storage from Michaels. What I wouldn’t do to have a Michaels in Northern Ireland, lol. We have no big craft stores here at all. Just a few teeny, tiny wee private shops (3 I think in all) and they costs a clean fortune to buy from. I’d need to remortgage the house to buy from them, lol. Thank goodness for online shopping and Ikea for great storage, lol. Lee x
Laura Silva says
Now see, I get to be jealous of you! I don’t have an Ikea near me. It is probably a good thing though, or I would be there all the time!
Dana W says
Wow!! I love seeing a real person using this stuff! Much better then Michaels staged photos!!! Love the dividers in the drawers!!
Laura Silva says
Thanks so much! I do love the staged photos for ideas, but it is always fun to peek into real people’s organization systems!
grammygoodwill says
I don’t have any of the “special” storage items. I like collecting tins that have foreign sites that I’ve visited. Then I use them for storage. Thanks for the chance to win.
Laura Silva says
That is a great idea! I love repurposing items around my home for storage. Right now, my favorite repurposed item is my blue mason jars for pens. Since I am a bit of a pen hoarder, I have quite a few of them around! :)
Susan h. says
My fave thing is my carousel but I love your Recollections cubes! So useful!
Laura Silva says
I have seen the carousel! I have thought about getting one. It would be really handy to have on my desk while working on projects!
Amy Shepard says
I love these cubes too! Thanks for the chance to win!
Sandy Luckett says
Great storage ideas! I’m off to use some of your ideas now! Thanks!
Carol Workman says

Laura Silva says
Me too! Aren’t they fabulous?
Margaret says
I love the Recollections storage at Michaels also and do need a few more so winning the gift certificate will help.
Laura Silva says
Good luck! They keep coming out with new ones! I am almost to the point where I need to add another level of cubes. (I am a little bit of a craft supply hoarder. Shh! Don’t tell!) ;)
Marie O says
OMG your craft organization is very impressive!
Laura Silva says
Thank you! Right now my craft room looks like a bomb exploded but it is relatively quick to get it put back to normal. Have a great week!
Gilda (McStamper) says
Love your organized space. Thanks for sharing.
Karen Buchana says
Love the cubes! So easy to add to, change to suit your needs!
Laura Silva says
That is my favorite part! I love as my crafting storage needs change, these cubes can evolve right along with me!
